About the Role:
This person will be responsible for the testing and automation of security software for McAfee’s Network Security Platform. This position is for experienced networking professionals with solid knowledge of switching, routing & application protocols.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Understand the product/module requirement: Network Security Testing & Automation (IPS, NTBA, NAC, Firewall)
• Come up with required test needed and strategize testing for the assigned features.
• Test plan development and automation.
• Setting up and maintaining a QA test bed and process for the Network Security appliances.
• Interaction with design teams and working towards resolving bugs, ensuring that the product meets the quality expectations
Experience & Qualifications:
• 3-6 years of testing experience in network related products
• Good understanding of networking, VPN, VLAN, Routing Protocols, Firewall concepts.
• Good understanding of TCP/IP fragmentation, segmentation, reassembly, TCP internals and related protocols (http, SNMP etc.)
• Hands on experience with security is a plus
• Knowledge of Unix, Linux, Windows OS
• Knowledge of traffic generation and analysis tools such as tcpdump / tcpreplay, ethereal, smartbits, Breaking Point
• Exposure to Tcl/Tk, perl, Python, C is desirable
• CCNA/CCNP desirable
• Automation, Scripting experience is desirable.
Competencies / Skill sets required for the role:
• General understanding of SDLC, QA Process, Defect lifecycle
• Familiarity with bug tracking system like Bugzilla
• Good communication skills and ability to work well with others
• Good Analytical and debugging skills
